  • Partnership for Children

Partnership for Children was set up in September 2001 to promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young children.

Our vision is a world in which the development of mental health and emotional resilience is part of life for every child – at home, at school and in the community.

Last year more than 152,000 children enrolled in our Skills for Life programmes around the world. That’s a big number but only a small fraction of the world’s children. There is both the need and the opportunity to do more.

We want to build the social and emotional skills of children across the entire primary school age range through well-evidenced programmes and collaborative, mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships.

    Our goals for 2026 – 2028:

    • Strengthen the design, quality and delivery of our Skills for Life programmes from early years to adolescence
    • Build our evidence base and measure our impact
    • Engage with partner organisations in the UK and internationally to embed coping skills into the lives of all children
    • Build a healthy, resilient and sustainable organisation

Partnership for Children is a UK registered charity that helps children to be mentally and emotionally healthy – just as exercise, good food and sleep help them to be physically healthy.

We have developed a range of well-evidenced programmes to help young children across the entire primary school age range to learn how to deal with difficulties, so that they will be better able to cope with problems and crises now and as teenagers and adults.
